Embedded foundations are the standard mounting method for ground set flagpoles. Embed
the flagpole at least 10% of exposed height. The concrete depth goes 6 inches beyond the
base plate on 40 foot and shorter flagpole and twelve inches on 45 foot and taller poles.

The top of the concrete footing should be 5 times the diameter of the butt of the flagpole
at a minimum. The bottom of the concrete footing should be 4 times the diameter of the butt
of the flagpole at a minimum.
